Harry Potter Studios opening times
The Warner Bros Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter runs on assigned entry slots booked in advance. Here you'll find the approximate opening times, how long to spend and the best time to go with fewer crowds.
Guide opening times
| First admission | Around 9:00 (the site opens a little earlier) |
|---|---|
| Last admission | Varies by season; on high-demand dates, up to ~18:30 |
| Closing | Depends on the last slot of the day (the tour is free-flow) |
| Opening days | Practically every day of the year (except occasional closures) |
| Booking | Required in advance: tickets are not sold at the door on the day |
Bear in mind that your ticket has an assigned time: it's the time you enter the site, not a pass for the whole day at any hour. Once inside, the walk through the sets has no strict time limit.
How long should you spend?
Most visitors spend between 3 and 4 hours exploring the sets, the galleries, the outdoor area and the shop. If you're a big fan and want to take it all in slowly, allow for the maximum. If you book the tour with transport from London included, the full experience —travel, visit and return— lasts between 6 hr 20 min and 7 hr 30 min.
The best time to go (fewer queues)
- Early morning: the opening slots are usually among the quietest for photos of Platform 9¾ or the Great Hall.
- Late afternoon: another slot with fewer people; ideal for seeing the castle model with its night-time lighting.
- Avoid midday and, above all, weekends, public holidays and school holidays, which is when it's busiest.
Book your slot in advance
It's one of London's most in-demand attractions and popular dates sell out weeks ahead. The tour with transport sorts the transfer and ticket in a single booking.

At certain times of year, the site extends the experience with special events that can lengthen the slots and greatly increase demand:
- Hogwarts in the Snow (the studios in their festive version, from mid-November to mid-January). We tell you all about it in Hogwarts in the Snow.
- Dark Arts (a darker theming, around autumn/Halloween).
On these dates it's worth booking even further ahead, as they're the ones that sell out first.
