How to get to the Harry Potter Studios
The studios are not in central London but in Leavesden (Hertfordshire), around 30 km to the north-west. There are two main ways to get there: the direct coach with the tour or the train + shuttle on your own.
The hassle-free option
The Civitatis tour includes the return coach from London and your entry ticket. No changes.
Check availability (from €158) →Option 1 · Direct coach with the tour
It's the simplest way and the one we recommend if it's your first time or you're travelling with children. When you book the tour, a coach picks you up at a central London point at a fixed time, takes you straight to Leavesden and brings you back at the end. Entry to the Studio Tour is already included, so there's nothing else to arrange.
- No changes of train or bus.
- Entry included: you walk straight in.
- Total experience duration: 6 hr 20 min – 7 hr 30 min.
- All you need to do is be punctual at the meeting point.
Option 2 · Train to Watford Junction + shuttle
If you prefer to arrange it yourself (and perhaps save a little), this is the classic public transport route:
- London Euston → Watford JunctionDirect train, around 20 minutes. They run frequently throughout the day.
- Watford Junction → StudiosDedicated (themed) shuttle bus to the studio entrance, around 15 minutes.
- EntryYou need to have your Studio Tour ticket bought separately, with an assigned time.
- ReturnThe same shuttle takes you back to Watford Junction and the train back to London.
Plan to book your Studio Tour ticket in advance and to pay separately for the train and the shuttle. It's a good option if you're comfortable with British transport and timetables.
Text map: where it is
To get your bearings without an interactive map:
| Location | Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden (Hertfordshire), United Kingdom |
|---|---|
| Distance from London | Around 30 km north-west of the centre |
| Nearest train station | Watford Junction (+ ~15 min shuttle) |
| From Euston by train | Approximately 20 minutes |
| By car | Close to the M25 and M1; free parking at the studios |
By car?
If you're driving in the UK, the studios are well connected to the M25 and the M1 and have free parking. It's convenient if you already have a hire car, though for most travellers staying in London the tour coach is still the most practical option.
Our advice
If you value your time and don't want to think about train timetables, the tour with transport included is worth it: you arrive, enjoy and return with no logistics. If you're travelling on a tight budget and enjoy organising things, the train + shuttle route is perfectly doable. Either way, book your ticket in advance: that's what really sells out.
